Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

You can bet your last dollar that when the Budget comes out the first words out of all media is the "huge increase in Defense spending".

It will probably be a budget to mollify Trump during the ongoing negotiations so that's a given.

Luckily, like the Whitehouse, we already have construction equipment prominently arranged all around Parliament Hill ;)

At this point I think Canada is a fork in the road when it comes to defence spending. We either are a sovereign nation capable of protecting our people and interests and working seamlessly with our allies; or we are a vassal state of some bigger more power nation.

To me Carney's real test comes when Trump runs out of power, and I believe he will.

Will he smile and steer us back to 2023, or keep forging ahead ?

PP will be looking for PS cuts large enough to get him to either support the budget or have enough MP's 'miss' the vote in order to ensure that it passes.
Could be. Attrition alone isn’t going to be enough.

maybe, or he is atleast trying to offer an olive branch for an easy pass of the budget.

If you asked the question:

"Do you think Canada would by better off over the next 2 years with a Liberal Majority or a Liberal Minority government?"

I'd be curious to see the difference in responses between Liberal supporters and CPC/NDP/BQ supporters.

Me, despite, at this moment, supporting MC's agenda, would prefer a Liberal minority.

I think you're hemming in the question to suit your biases.

"Do you think Canada would by better off over the next 2 years with a Liberal Government or another party forming government?"

That's how I would phrase it. Making one choose between Liberal or Liberal is very... Liberal.

I'd like the question asked a bit differently.

If MC was the leader of the Conservative Party would you vote for the Conservative Party or would you vote for the Liberal Party under a different leader?

Tin foil hat time

PMMC:

Look PP, things are tightening between us. If I scrap the firearms issue and walk it back to 2015 would you support my budget ? Its costing us to much anyways and its diverting attention from issues. I will give allowance for Que to do their own thing.

JT made sure I will never vote Liberal again. It wont mater who is at the helm.

Alot of people feel the same ;)

What surprised me more is how many will still vote in that direction.

I'm sure the usuals will be in here soon to espouse the witlessness and unlikability of PP. If that's their justification for voting the same way, so be it. That's democracy. At this point Canada gets what what it deserves, and I am but a servant hanging on to it to the end.

Some people dont let their distaste for a single leader turn them off of a party forever. Im surenyoull find plenty of conservatives who have said they wont vote CPC while Pierre Poilievre is leader who will jump back once he eventually is gone.
