Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

I don't think he would do that.

In fact, based on how fast he got a by-election going for PP, I bet that if another CPC member resigned and their empty seat gave MC a majority as a result, that MC would not drag is feet in getting the by-election done, even though it would likely result in his losing the majority.
I think there is a big different between leader of the opposition vs regular MP.

I think we see a full 6 months

I'm going to go out on a limb and say "F**k Trudeau" flags, t-shirts & bumper stickers were out there well before the worst of Trudeau's faults were coming through.
By 2022, most of Trudeau's worst scandals and personal flaws were already known or coming to light. And individuals waving flags isn't the same as news outlets covering or not covering certain events. Remember Telford bragging about having favourable op-ed articles written whenever needed.

Based on?

Two BIG things I applaud Carney for. First, calling an election right away when he became PM through LPC leadership race (Excellent move) and his giving Pierre a chance to run immediately in a by-election (basically saying he was not afraid of Poilievre)

For the people complaining Pierre is too much of an attack dog, wake up.

So is Larry Brock, Michelle RG, Michael Barrett, Michael Cooper, Andrew Scheer, Melissa Lantsman. Just to name a few. Yes Pierre is the lead attack dog but he leads a pack of attack dogs. Or we could use another term, like opposition, ohh wait, thats what they are.

Basically, many of us view Liberals complaining about Pierre "being an attack dog/too negative/not cooperative.." are literally complaining about Pierre and his cohorts doing their JOB as opposition. Your just upset they embarrass the Liberals.

Why the personal interest if he leaves the government?
Because I don't see him leaving government employment. If he loses the party leadership I see him trying to stay on as a MP for as long as he can stay elected.

With his skill set I don't see very many career options available to him at the level of income that he currently enjoys. Only 1.5 - 2% of the Canadian population makes over 200,000$/yr, which is the salary of a lowly MP.

Are you even remotely aware of Pierre's ideas on energy development and trade? Like at all? He hasn't even muttered the word crypto in years.
Let's remember that what's at discussion here is why Carney hasn't stolen/ adopted "more." Because he has done many of the same things, the actual good ideas. The Major Project Office = Rapid Resource Project Office. Emissions Cap seems to be going away. GST on new homes under certain prices. Consumer Carbon Tax- there's significant overlap there.

But looking at economic things that haven't been adopted- let's go the platform (luckily I have a PDF saved since it's been scrubbed from CPC website)

One comparison that comes to mind is how each would incentivize investment in the Canadian Economy.

Carney - a tax break that allows actual businesses to do immediate write-offs / get accelerated depreciation for certain capital asset classes- manufacturing equipment, buildings etc.

Result- Government forgoes immediate tax revenue (but recoups it later) to incentivize and stimulate direct business investment

Poilievre A TFSA top up is granted to enable $5000 of extra tax sheltered investment in Canadian companies

Result- Forgoes tax revenue in perpetuity on investments that only the upper decile of Canadians have the liquid funds to make, investments that go into the secondary securities market and don't directly stimulate business activity.

Similarly, and much more extensively, his Canada First Reinvestment Capital Gains deferral was way too broad and was an easily exploitable tax dodge for M&A activity, wealth consolidation, and restructuring that wouldn't actually create primary business investment.

An idea like that isn't stolen because it's stupid

If the budgeted deficit is as much of an existential crises as he represents, his job as a patriotic elected member of Canadian parliament should be to do what has to be done to make it better- even if that means working across the aisle.

And if he lands some big paying job in the private sector? especially in ohh I don't know, lobbying, then what? Why are you obsessed with what he does post government? Trudeau had even less skills sets and frankly when he left, I didn't give a rats arse what he did with his life as long as he stays away from office.

Or opposing it. Which he is. It is on the MINORITY Liberals to reach across the aisle to the CPC, Bloc and the NDP.

Well, he made a good show of it, but the result was...... failure. Because
It is on the MINORITY Liberals to reach across the aisle to the CPC, Bloc and the NDP.
They did- a dance partner pulling the other way. Opportunity missed. NDP leveraged their 7 seats into a Youth Climate Corps, protected all social spending. But hey, the CPC spent their 140 seats for good chance to make a speech opposing, too bad he forgot the one actual procedural requirement for the leader of the opposition.

Soundbites for Canada Proud don't unspend billions. Supporting and working with the government could have.

Then there's 100 Mile House....

The axe falls on 100 Mile House mill: West Fraser to shutter facilities on both sides of the border

I notice the provincial government's remarks are always something along the lines of "what a shame about all these things that are going on that negatively affect industry in BC of which none are attributable to things we have been doing and someone else should be kicking in money to soften the blow".

Bunch of fuckers who basically don't care enough to admit their mistakes undo some of their own damage.

My fear is that there is still much more to see on the Carney Liberals. But then again, I have a personal conspiracy theory (opinion) that Carney is not ripping off more of Pierre's economic ideas because he is beholden to some behind the scenes Liberal power brokers.

Slapping a new label on rotten meat doesn't change anything of course. The Carney "Liberals" are the same Trudeau "Liberals" with a new label. Lots of scandals and dirty deeds still to be found. If Poilievre is out of the picture, that's going to be more difficult.

I don't think supports of Carney will be any more motivated to hold him, and by extention the LPC, to scandals and dirty laundry than Trudeau's supporters showed over last 10 years. If anything I think they will be even more motivated to ignore or downplay anything negative.
(Just to be fair conservatives do the same, only the scope of scandals in thebpast 10 years is night and day IMO).

Excited to be wrong and see a scandal free 4 years under Carney.

But are the bills they are skipping the lease payments on the Beamers, the $200 on subscription services, the $100 iphone 17 payments, etc.?

There are most definitely individuals who are having to choose between paying the gas bill and eating for the week. But they probably aren't taking the time to respond to poll questions.
ah, perception has it all. Those items are considered essential these days. Those beamers are essential transportation for getting to the food bank. Schooling needs to include a course on how to live within your means. Reading back through different strings one becomes aware that we are really not typical. There are discussions about the pros and cons of electric vehicles vs. hybrid F150's for hauling the boat. Drive through Hamilton or Stoney Creek and the average car is a 10 year old Honda. Lunch programmes are essential in the schools and the kids aren't wearing 100 dollar Nikes.
