RCMP report says Bishnoi gang ‘acting on behalf of’ Indian government

An Indian gang accused of extortion and murder-for-hire in Canada has been “acting on behalf of the Indian government,” according to an RCMP document obtained by Global News.

In a report on the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, the RCMP national security division mentioned the crime group’s alleged ties to the government of India a half-dozen times in just three pages

Maybe we should be a little more picky with the guests we let in Canada.

Couldn't agree more. But, according to the linked Global article, he came here legitimately on a study permit. Unfortunately, as reported in the media, not every study permit holder actually comes here to study, which is why the government made it harder to obtain and retain a study permit. Is their plan working? I'd say that it's too soon to tell.

Nonsense, everything's fine! ;)

B.C. premier downplays RCMP report linking Indian government to Bishnoi gang

B.C.’s premier has downplayed concerns raised in an RCMP report about the Indian government’s suspected ties to a gang blamed for extortion and murder in Canada.

During a trade mission to India, David Eby responded to questions about an RCMP document that said the Bishnoi gang was “acting on behalf of the Indian government.”

Asked about the newly-released report obtained by Global News, Eby said it was a “summary of publicly available news reports from more than a year ago.”

“This was not an RCMP intelligence report,” he said from Mumbai on Wednesday. His office did not respond to follow-up questions from Global News.

But a former intelligence analyst who reviewed the document disagreed with Eby’s characterization, and a Canadian Sikh organization called the premier’s statement “misleading and dangerous.”

Welcome to BC ;)

We will see some new dealerships and makers pop up perhaps eh ?
Will be interesting to see Trumps reaction to this.
The auto sector will have their feathers ruffled by this - 49,000 can easily be 99,000 within 5yrs and that’s then about 10% of the CDN market share.

I think this is a position where we can tell them to go pound sand. They don't get to have their cake and eat it too. If they want access the Canadian auto market they have to let autos get built here.

BBC is covering this and indicates that Ireland, Germany, South Korea and England are all headed to China soon and this deal may be the example used by them and others in shifting things.

At the 5% mark it’s not an issue, over 10% and it becomes a case of, ‘you really should start building your car here.’
I think that is the argument that we are proposing to the Koreans. You’ve established your here to the point that we really should start building your cars here - in others words, it’s time to put a ring on that finger son.
The Dodge Charger, built in Windsor, just won the North American Car of the Year Award at the Detroit Auto Show. Quite a coup for Chrysler and for Canada. The two remaining US car companies do not want to leave Canada. In the past when I was involved in a small way in Chrysler, their plant in Windsor consistly ranked in the top 2 or 3 in terms for quality for all their plants across the world. I’m not sure if that hold true today, but I think that it does. Our vehicles built here have an overall higher quality then those built in the US, scrapping the plants here and moving them to the US means that their quality overall will fall and as a result so will there sales.

Looks like a deal with China has been made.

Oh this is right on par with this government.

Just google “chinese autos spyware” for a good glimpse of what many other countries have discovered and what they're doing about it. Due to cost, and the electrical mandate, how many of these do you think will find there way into government service?

Well done!

Mexico seems to be doing fine, I haven't heard a single peep from him about the growing Chinese EV market there. I believe their tariff on them is only 50%.
