Which means we gotta either fight to protect what we have, or give up and let the industry die. Both options will cause damage to us in some way. Its a matter of what choice is more palatable

Clearly you're being sarcastic, but the reality is, selling more soy, canola, and seafood to China doesn't make them more or less of a threat to us.

Allowing in a few thousand Chinese EVs isn't a massive security threat. OnStar is tracking my every move in the truck, and Googe does them same then goes one step further and listens to me constantly.

We had cut many trade links with China as an act of solidarity with America. America is now putting the screws to us(and pretty much everyone else), so it makes perfect sense to back-off on some of our trade restrictions with China. That doesn't make China a trusted partner, it makes them a customer.

I'm genuinely curious if China's threat to Canada improved and they're safer, or if they're just as bad, just that the US is worse.

Are they legally liable to provide information to their government on demand?

Buying a Chinese-made EV is a bet that China isn't going to attack Taiwan for as long as the buyer thinks he's going to own the car. If China attacks Taiwan, I can guess that the dealer network is going to collapse, the parts inventory is going to quickly run down, the resale value is going to plummet, and there will be acts of vandalism - with the potential for fires - which cause property owners to refuse to allow Chinese-made EVs into their parkades, parking lots, etc.

Utterly wrong. If that were true, the 80% of the population which used to work in agriculture and has been reduced to something like 2-3% would all be jobless right now.

Displaced workers will find other employment as long as entrepreneurs are not stifled from innovating and venturing.

Canada is still a seller's market for labour.
