Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

I hope the Koreans build a better sub than they do a vehicle.
I'm willing to risk our subs getting a leak if it means having partners who don't put bounties on our citizens heads, send children to interfere with our elections, or steal viruses then start a plague.

Their vehicle quality has gone up substantially in recent years.

At this point I don't see any way for the Germans to counter. They're being left in the dust, quite literally.

I tend to prefer sooner than later. Realistically the Koreans offer much more than the Germans can faster. Their industry is struggling to meet domestic/European demand let alone adding us. The Koreans aren’t.

I like the Poland method personally. Buy what is needed today. Instant modern divisions with quick turnaround.

That has been true for over five years now.....

JDPower is literal trash and that article is from 2019. I still wouldn’t put my worst enemy in a Hyundai or Kia, those things just feel cheap, because they are cheap.

Good luck with those subs though, they’ll likely be fine. Those things aren’t getting anywhere near the same attention as fighter jets. Odd there isn’t a national poll asking citizens which one we should buy.

Lets see how Consumer Reports rate Kia and Hyundai:

Consumer Reports (CR) generally ranks Hyundai and Kia higher in reliability and overall value compared to most North American automakers (Ford, GM, Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep), placing them in the upper-middle tier of brands. While Hyundai and Kia often achieve top-10, above-average reliability scores in recent surveys, their, electric vehicle, (EV) models, like the EV6 and EV9, have shown lower reliability due to powertrain issues, with, some models scoring as low as 24-25.
Key takeaways:
  • Ranking: In 2026 reports, Hyundai has appeared in the top 10 brands, often alongside, Lincoln (the highest-ranked domestic) and ahead of, Tesla, Chevrolet, Ford, and Jeep.
  • Vs. North American Brands: Hyundai/Kia generally outperform Detroit's "Big Three" in predicted reliability, with, Jeep, Chrysler, and Dodge frequently appearing in the bottom five, according to Consumer Reports.
  • Strengths & Weaknesses: While traditional, hybrid vehicles from Hyundai/Kia rank high for reliability, their, electric vehicle and, {Link: plug-in hybrid models have faced, lower, , {Link: reliability scores for, infotainment, , {Link: or power equipment issues.
  • Specific Models: The 2026 Kia Carnival Hybrid achieved a high reliability score of 72, far exceeding competitors, according to data published in Driving.ca.
In summary, Consumer Reports views Hyundai/Kia as more reliable than most American brands, although they face stiff competition from Asian manufacturers like Subaru, Mazda, and Toyota, and their specific electric models have lagged in reliability.

There should be a public poll to decide these weapon purchases, it only makes sense since it’s tax payer dollars. Right? The KF-21 is a fine aircraft, even if it’s a temu F-22 it’ll likely serve us just fine.
the Swiss way

It has 2 engineers too. I remember that was a big issue with the F35.

They've come a long way from the Hyundai Pony.
I bought a 1990 Hyundai Excel in uni (4 speed manual, passenger side rear view mirror optional). I thought I would be lucky if it lasted a year. It lasted all 4 years and it was a great little car.

More recently, my wife bought a Kia and it’s been great.
