Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

G&M has chimed in, surprisingly.

I think the CPC may have a slight discipline problem, and Jivani might be going 3 for 3 soon on getting himself booted out of a job if he's not careful.

When asked if Jivani's comments might muddle the Conservative message on U.S. tariffs, Poilievre said the MP "speaks for himself, I speak for the party."

Poilievre disagrees with Conservative MP's 'anti-American hissy fit' comments

Buddah was he where it's at?
Is he where you are?
Could Mohamed move a mountain
Or was that just PR?
I take it that you haven’t seen Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. Probably the funniest movie Will Ferrell / John C Reilly did together.
I mentioned Buddha as Buddhism is the largest organized religion in China.

I take it you're not familiar with Jesus Christ Superstar, a concept album turned Broadway musical and movie directed by Norman Jewison.

No. As a teenager at that time having no interest in the theatre . My interests then were cars and girls.
Now I feel on obligation to find where I can stream the movie.

Sounds like someone got a hand slap
Rightfully so.

If the CPC a is going to take on a new tone and direction, PP needs to get a grip on guys like that.

Jivani clearly has eyes on the leadership. Not sure that was the best approach,

That's been a longstanding issue with the CPC. The Liberals are much better at party discipline and their messaging is always consistent and on point for thier platform.

It’s a tough position for CPC to be in strategically. In order to maintain tight control on the party, Poilievre has minimized the growth of more independently empowered CPC MPs. But this means they don’t have as much obvious bench strength as a potential government in waiting, and there’s little opportunity for an ambitious CPC member to gain prominence without potentially bucking the leader. They need to figure out a way to delegate responsibility and influence in an empowered manner, still singing off the same overall song sheet but without it looking overly controlled. As it stands the party is without a small field of obvious potential contenders should they decide they need to change the leadership channel to open up their appeal to voters more.

Be interesting to see if anyone decides to hop over. Someone sufficiently policy and accomplishment minded may be willing to.

Matt Jeneroux now has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever.

Following up: Instead of his planned resignation, Matt Jeneroux has apparently decided to cross the floor to the Liberals.
