Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Just look at these forums. If you criticize Carney you get dog piled. If you support Carney you get dog piled.
Dog piling is one thing, and if done in a civil manner, good to go - and I've been less than civil myself from time to time. It's the "if you're not with me, you're irredeemably against me and my sworn enemy until the sun burns out" that fucks up discourse here and on other socials.
The health of our political discourse is not good.
Sad, but true.

Latest polling, opposition reduced to less than 100 seats. Liberal super majority

I'm not a huge fan of that kind of map; that a geographically huge riding with 20K people is likely voting liberal distorts impressions (the vast swaths of red in the north are sparsely populated).

How information is presented has a huge impact on how it is interpreted.

It's just a symptom of political polarization.

Just look at these forums. If you criticize Carney you get dog piled. If you support Carney you get dog piled.

The health of our political discourse is not good.
Mea culpa

At this point any centrists should just move to the LPC and the rest move to provincial or municipal politics where their policies are likely to be better received
Centrists all collapsing into one party isn't healthy for democracy. A functioning system needs ideological overlap between parties so voters actually have choices and governments face meaningful competition. If every centrist moved to the Liberals, you’d just hollow out the rest of federal politics and push everything toward 1 dominant party. That would probably make policy and accountability worse not better.
