Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

When is a fair amount of time to expect deliverables ? I just want to know so I can set my clock.
What's the deliverable? If my little 30 person company wants a commercial cab and chassis with our industry's equipment mounted we're looking 9-12 months. If we wanted an engineered steel frame addition that's already drawn and stamped we'd be looking at next spring- maaaaybe a late fall build slot if we're feeling lucky/spendy.

Grab your AI and run the prompts
"Assume all regulatory barriers can be cleared in 24 hours, what's the lead time before start on a $50million project in Ontario?"
"what about a $500 million dollar infrastructure project?"
"what it projects are proposals still looking to secure private funding?
"Now consider the same parameters but in Churchill Manitoba or another remote northern location?"

I'd argue the buck stops with the MND or CDS, and the question needs to be asked, when was the PM informed? and by who?

To quote Yes, Minister: "Minister, for an official to decide not to tell you something is a very heavy burden, whereof simply not telling you is simply department practice."

I just want to know when its right to expect deliverables is all ? Or are we just supposed to be clapping seals until, well, ever ?

I can tell you I don't see things on this coast getting better. Both food inflation and housing prices are still going up.

which also means they want the country to fail

Canada is more than Mark Carney and this Gov. And expecting this PM and Gov to deliver is not hoping the country will fail.

That statement is simply your biases attempting to shield your position from criticism.

Did you get a pay raise or not?

Are you not retained?

How so? People are complaining that his economic policies arent delivering, if they want those to fail, thats not just a GoC failure but the nation suffers as well as a result. People are already complaining the MPO hasnt delivered anything 7 months after it started operating when the project timeline is 2 years for the MPO. I am all for fair criticism. Some things though are not

Who is this MAGA North ? Are they related to Maple MAGA ? And who exactly are these people ?
I'm not @Remius, but this poll found that 15% of Canadians would give Trump an A or B grade.

A or B grade to Trump = MAGA aligned. 15% of Canadians seem to be MAGA alligned, ergo Maple MAGA.

But again, what's the deliverable? We've seen a bunch, but they get discounted because we haven't manifested finished projects out of thin air. You work in logistics- you should know better.

Criticizing the perception of slow/failing delivery of polices by the Gov does not equate to wanting them to fail.

Are you saying its unpatriotic to expect the Gov to deliver on its policies ?

I assumed they were pointing to people on this forum. If its just a percentage captured in some poll, oh well. I just wanted to know who the boogie men were.

You tell me. Ill let you pick the policy/project and the timelines. I don't want to be accused of saying my expectations are too high or fast.

From the BBC:

Highly partisan I expect:

Sure, but there are things within the GoC control, and then there are things like global oil prices massively spiking because the US decided to attack Iran with Israel, because they heard Israel was going to attack Iran and Iran would retaliate, including shutting down the Strait of Hormuz where 20% of the world's supply transits through.

That directly impacts inflation across the board, and indirectly everything else due to CoL impacts increasing charges from everyone.

Housing is a supply and demand, and honestly don't see supply catching up until a lot of the boomer and early gen X generations have to downsize, regardless of the number of immigration spots they cut and how much they can build just because the backlog has been building for decades.

Expecting generational problems to be fixed overnight is pretty unrealistic, and also things that no GoC could influence.

Well, they might be 'left-washing' the public but at least the CBC reported this ;)

Former CBC News host Travis Dhanraj says he was 'pulled off the air' for fighting against bias
Dhanraj has filed a human rights complaint against the CBC

Former CBC News host Travis Dhanraj accused the public broadcaster of trying to silence him when he challenged bias at the network and fought for diversity of opinion.

"I raised concerns. I challenged centralized control and bias," Dhanraj told a Canadian Heritage parliamentary committee hearing on Tuesday looking into the state of journalism and media sectors.

Dhanraj, the former host of CBC's Canada Tonight, said he fought for real diversity and raised concerns about a toxic environment, but the CBC "silenced and intimidated" him just for trying to do his job as a journalist.

No, I am saying that those expecting it to fail or want it to fail/declaring it failed before even letting things play out on the timelines given are being dishonest for cheap political points

Understood, on all accounts.

So when should we expect to see the fruits of this Govs labour ? 20 years from now ?

Ok, so when has enough time elapsed ? Thats all I want to know.

I think @Navy_Pete is saying roughly 20 years.

It’s funny how we lament things that are done with 4 year election cycle thinking but if we shift to long game thinking with things that may have impacts in the future fir the better then it isn’t fast enough.

Sigh.
