Liberal Minority Government 2025 - ???

Also what degree of continuing involvement does that connote? Some of the discourse on this talks as if that’s 700 IRGC sleeper agents… Iran isn’t really much for sleepers though; they work through proxies, temporary residents, or organized crime hired for the job. Some more clarity is required about what these claims mean… though given the original sources are likely classified national security intelligence I doubt we’ll get much more detail at our level.

That would also be discourse from people (activists) who may benefit from more inclusive definitions of bad guy than less, too - further amplified by politicians whose approach gets ammo from more, not fewer, estimated bad guys

I vaguely remember “official” figures being in the dozens of (clearly defined) suspected IRGC types, with hazier figures around supporters/fellow travellers. Any is too many, but the estimated number range is pretty broad.

Astounding how much the Liberal party has harmed Canada.

Google: GDP per capita growth last 10 years to see a comparison against our peer countries.

With the limp efforts towards resource exports and the elbows up mentality towards our largest trading partner, I don't see the current Liberal party improving this situation.

They wont. I can actually feel something has changed. I think we have reached the crescendo of PMMCs popularity. Economic realities are about to #elbowsup Canada IMHO. And people elected him, in part, to make life better.

If you have every hunted bears, sometimes, just before they die they let out a defiant death moan/growl. I feel like this LPC Gov may be that for the LPC for a very long time. It could also just be me hoping.

Yeah, I think Canada is cooked.

simple question did you look at the reasons for our slumped per capita gdp despite solid gdp growth every year? because per capita GDP is one of the few metrics being used to criticize the government right now because of its poor performance compared to other metrics.

That's kind of false framing.
It’s not one of the few meteics in so far as people cite it out of nothing else to go on. It’s one of the most important metrics.
GDP per capita is a core standard-of-living indicator.

Total GDP growth doesn’t mean much if it’s being driven by population increases rather than productivity.

From AI: Over the last 10 years (roughly 2014–2024), Canada has experienced a divergence between total GDP growth and per capita growth. While total real GDP has increased, driven by high population growth, real GDP per capita has remained nearly stagnant, growing at an anemic average of only 0.4% to 0.8% annualy. This represents one of the worst decades for per capita economic growth since the 1930s.

Key Trends (Last 10 Years):
  • Total GDP Growth: Driven by rapid population growth, total GDP continued to grow.
  • GDP Per Capita: Stagnant or falling; the country is seeing a "per capita crisis".
  • Comparison: From 2014–2024, Canada's real GDP per capita grew by only 3.2% in total, whereas the OECD average was 15.3% and the US was 20.2%.
  • The Gap: Canada's GDP per capita fell from 80.4% of the U.S. level in 2012 to 72.3% in 2022, per the Fraser Institute.
  • Cause: Very low or negative growth in labour productivity and weak investment, resulting in a decline in the standard of living relative to other advanced nations.
As of late 2025/early 2026, the trend of weak per capita growth has continued, with per capita GDP frequently flat or declining, says Statistique Canada.

High population growth isnt the only factor, so has been weak productivity growth stemming from low business investment per worker $, automation in some industries, both the BoC and OECD have flagged this as an issue in canada. A large portion of investment capital has also been connected to realestate which down generate much gdp growth at all. High skill job sectors arent growing at a pace compared to other G7 nations.

If we wanna reverse this, we need immigration focused on High skill labour, and we need to attract investment in high skill job growth, instead of the housing market.

So not this ?

I haven't said much lately. I decided to hold back a bit. Many here think I am devoutly die hard conservative (I still insist I am not).

We as a nation are reaping what we have sowed.

Once again, DEEDS not words.
