In the meantime, every transport I see has Drivers Wanted on the barn doors.
Whenever I'm in the mood for a fright, I tune in Bonehead Truckers. "Carrier, or killer?"
There are lots of jobs available just not too many executive starting roles.
It's getting one's foot in the door.
For example, Canada's largest city is hiring Solid Waste Collection Operators aka garbage persons. $34.82 per hour.
That's not likely a young person's dream job.
But, the important thing is, it gets you into a union with thousands of members doing every conceivable job to keep the city functioning.
Ie: When a permanent vacancy arises , or a new job is established , it is closed to the public. If a member of the union doesn't want it, then, and only then, is it open to the public.
Eg: a low paying entry level position , such as Solid Waste Collection Operator, is something no member wants. So, it is open the public. That gets one's foot in the door for a better job.
All while building seniority, OMERS , Sick Bank. and all benefits.
