"Be careful about spreading misinformation and disinformation about this." - PM Trudeau criticizing claims that ordinary hunting rifles would be banned
I mean...the LPC might be playing the game here. What is the truth? There are very few absolutes in this world.
And the LPC should be careful, this could quickly turn around on them and their ilk.

We have outlets like the rebel who use the courts to get access to post debate scrum like they are legitimate media, while posting objectively false information on social media.
I'm not a huge fan of it, but I cannot say I feel bad for outlets like the rebel
Guard rails are needed for sure, but my statement still stands, government or not if you deliberately lie with the intention of harming the public, or public interest. You should be held accountable in a court of law.Do you see how this could be weaponized to prevent legitimate criticism of the government?
We rely too much on the courts. People around you who are habitual liars generally are isolated, mocked or simply ignored by their peers. Being alone is the ultimate punishment. When it comes to companies we have laws against false advertising which can cover most of their lies. That area is covered. I do believe that there should be consequences established for leadership that lies and not simply a slap on the wrist or a days suspension from the house either. I would be glad to support that bill but I am afraid policing it would be well nigh impossible. As for the internet, as long as what is written isn't slanderous or fitting under the umbrella of being malicious or threatening so what. The expression sticks and stones applies and again a habitual liar will find his followers dropping off one by one.Guard rails are needed for sure, but my statement still stands, government or not if you deliberately lie with the intention of harming the public, or public interest. You should be held accountable in a court of law.

That's what technology does... When you buy the MS Office suite you get that capability tossed in, no need to hire a young person. No I can't but then that is the point. If you aren't prepared to fetch coffee, edit notes for grammar and punctuation, and a dozen other menial tasks you have no future with any corporation.
Ive never seen a generation as dedicated to pulling the ladder up behind them than boomers. My God, its like they try to misunderstand reality for the youth these days. That's what technology does... When you buy the MS Office suite you get that capability tossed in, no need to hire a young person.
Posts like this only add to the notion that most of the people calling young people lazy have no idea of the reality in the workplace these days.
To be fair to boomers, they are trying to impart their experiences and wisdom onto the next generation.Ive never seen a generation as dedicated to pulling the ladder up behind them than boomers. My God, its like they try to misunderstand reality for the youth these days.
And thats where we have things like the AG, PBO? And elections. Now if you want legal consequences then I suggest that ethics rules in parliment need actual teeth such as fines and sanctionsWould you agree the Liberal government should have been accountable for their "deficit guard rails" where they deliberately lied to the public about their guard rails by $22 billion dollars?

I probably understand the issues causing career problems with you better than you. With grandchildren looking for summer jobs, nieces and nephews graduating university with no job prospects it is up close and personal with me. The point of the statement that Furniture objected to was not intended as a description but as a warning: if you aren't prepared to do the shit jobs you won't get a job. There is no starting at the top unless you are the son of the owner. Is that clear enough. I simply used tasks from my era (true) to describe it. I could just as easily have described doing dishes in a kitchen or washing the walls in the toilets in MacDonalds. Reality though is that a lot of kids don't know how to work because you, their parents, haven't insisted that they do any. Reality is they won't wash those walls instead they walk out. That is the royal you by the way applying to those with teenagers. The farms around me see it all the time and most have given up on local hiring unless they actually know the kid. But the issue that screws everything up for kids is reverse discrimination. If you aren't in a classified recognized grouping you suck hind tit.Ive never seen a generation as dedicated to pulling the ladder up behind them than boomers. Doubtful.I probably understand the issues causing career problems with you better than you.
Go tell them to go work two jobs. Or cut grass. With grandchildren looking for summer jobs, nieces and nephews graduating university with no job prospects it is up close and personal with me.
People are aware that you need to start at the bottom and do shit jobs to get up the corporate ladder. But many cannot even get a foot in the door. The point of the statement that Furniture objected to was not intended as a description but as a warning: if you aren't prepared to do the shit jobs you won't get a job.
Nobody is asking to start at the top. People are asking to start. And once they start, they are asking to make enough to be able to save for things like a house, being financially secure enough to start a family and the like. There is no starting at the top unless you are the son of the owner. Is that clear enough.
Some kids cannot even get these jobs.I simply used tasks from my era (true) to describe it. I could just as easily have described doing dishes in a kitchen or washing the walls in the toilets in MacDonalds.
Prove this utter bullshit why don't you?Reality though is that a lot of kids don't know how to work because you, their parents, haven't insisted that they do any. Reality is they won't wash those walls instead they walk out.
Kids don't want to work on a farm, no shit. That is the royal you by the way applying to those with teenagers. The farms around me see it all the time and most have given up on local hiring unless they actually know the kid.
When in doubt, blame the nearest available minority. But the issue that screws everything up for kids is reverse discrimination. If you aren't in a classified recognized grouping you suck hind tit.
Except you didn't use those examples, and didn't elaborate, making it seem more like when called-out, you shifted the goal posts.I probably understand the issues causing career problems with you better than you. Armyrick said it beautifully. Nobody should need to work 70 hours a week to cover the bare essentials
And a lot of people do that.Starting proposition.
In 1960 40 hours of labour would cover the essentials for two and their children.
In 1980 80 hours of labour were necessary to cover the essentials for two - both partners needed to work
In 2000 80 hours of labour only covered the essentials for two - no children
In 2020 80 hours are necessary to cover the bare essentials
Old saying: two can live as cheap as one.
A partnership is necessary to meet the bare essentials of two.
What started out as an aspiration, a job for both partners, has become a requirement. Two salaries are necessary to support one roof.
Jobs are worth only half what they used to be.
It's like a drag net is being deployed en mass, globally, in every advanced economy, when it comes to millennials and gen Z. And it's not a surprise. Many people here have spoken of it. It's more like people just refuse to listen.
