locating info on my dad

Brand New to this group.   I am wondering where I can find info on my dad.   All I know is he was a dispatch rider in the WW11.   I believe he was with the Ist Canadian Division out of Montreal.   He didn't say to much ever about his time overseas but traveled extensively.   Is there a list of names somewhere??   I haven't any more info than that.   He moved in with a woman (after my mum passed away) that seemed to absorb all his/our momentos of our childhood and his war metals and such.

We have some members on this forum that seem to enjoy this type so research and seem very competent at it. They will need more info. if at all possible to be any help. Firstly would be a full name and also dates, years, units and any other info. if avail.
