I'll try not to make this too long but I hoping that someone can give me some insight on why the process is taking so long.  It has been almost 16 months since I submitted my application to the CFRC.  Having prior service, I was told that my application could take slightly longer than usual but nothing to be worried about. Well....Lets see...I have so far overcome a completely lost application, missed papers, Having my forms confused with someone Else's papers, cancelled test dates and to top it all off, 2 months ago I was speaking to a member of the recruiting staff in the CFRC and was actually given a date for my BMQ. (April apparently).  In the same conversation, I was told that the unit that I have applied to had my paperwork and to check in with them but  when I paid them a visit, WHOOPS!!!! Wrong information again....But with that all straitened out, I am now waiting for the call for a date to be sworn in and head for the green doors of BMQ.  Anyone else getting the run around like this as I am now suspecting that instead of an April BMQ, I will have to wait till approximately August or possibly later.....Thanks for any input...

It just sounds like you were unlucky. Things happen, and it looks like, in your case, everything happened ;)

I was fortunate that mine went quickly. I don't want to speculate, but if you VR'd from BMQ the first time, they may have dragged it out to make sure you really WANT to go back. Either way, it looks like you can see the light at the end of the tunnel, so good job!

I completed BMQ but VR'd almost a year after that.  No reason as to why, Just a stupidity leak on my behalf.  Several years later, Life has become more stable and the time for my return to the military is now so I get to patiently play the " Hurry up and wait " game. everything happens for a reason I guess, It will just make it all that more worth it when I finally sign the paper.

"Slightly longer" is different from person to person.
If you've called and talked to them, and they have told you there is nothing you can do to speed up the process, then pretty much all you can do is be patient I'm afraid.

Good luck.

Sounds like you've been to hell and back with the application process.  I too have had a application vanish, and having made the error of not making a copy made everything frustrating beyond belief.

Keeping pushing, use every (polite and appropriate) method and options, and keep on top of it as much as possible. Waiting sucks, but it will happen either way when does, and the whole experience would be worth it.

Its has been a while since my last update but the good news finally came my way.  I have officially been sworn in as of today and now have to wait for a date for a BMQ.  Thank got the ball has started rolling....
:salute:

Congratulations, Hopefull!

BWQ?  If you meant BMQ, it seems weird that you were sworn in without a BMQ date.

Typo.. My bad.  I thought it was strange as well but  apparently by next week I should have a date.  I was not given a real reason as to why I did not receive a date at the swearing in ceremony, I was just told that I should have one in the next week...

If you were sworn in, you can expect to be employed one way or the other within the next 30 days ... as I understand it (though I am NOT an RMS clerk) ... 30 days is the londest we can have you on LWOP (leave without pay) before you're put to work.

So, if they don't have a BMQ for you, you'll be thrown into a uniform and put to work filing or something else until they can send you off to Basic.

Hopefully I will be sent to basic within the 30 days but I at least get to do the training nights on Thursdays with the unit.  More good things to come soon hopefully.....

Does the 30 days maximum LWOP apply to all applicants to the forces ?

Would someone applying to the NCM-SEP, in which civilian school starts in September expect to wait for a job offer until around 30 days before school starts?

Yes it applies to all.

We may make the job offer earlier, but you will not be SWORN IN until 30 days before, maximum.

Ah! You do learn something new everyday.  I was a little curious as to why my swear in date was around 8 days before I'm due to fly to BMQ, instead of any other time such as June or early July.
