Married but living apart after training?

Hi:
I was wondering how this would work? After I finish my trades training and I am posted , it will be up to 3 years before my husband can join me since he is in university and cannot leave until he's finished. Will I have to pay for room and board, will I get some kind of seperation allowance even though I am finished training to maintian my residence where he is or will he have to move out since we will not be able to afford both?

From my perspective, too many variables in play to answer through an internet forum. Rather speak to your CFRC as they are current on all such issues as well as your particular situation and factors.

Without getting into a lot of details (I don't have enough info), but in general, if you opt to go "Imposed Restriction", then you are given room and board at no cost to you, and you also get a separation allowance.  It's not much, but it helps with travel costs to go home and all that jazz.  So, in short, and in general, you will not have to pay for rations and quarters if you are on separation allowance.  As FinClerk stated, speak to the recruiting centre, but ask about "Separation Allowance" and "Imposed Restriction"
