Military SANDALS, split from Re: Military Scandals

At least make them tactical sandals:

...or even OD...

While we're at it, why not go to entirely new AirForce, Army, and Navy summer uniforms?

Ahem...

I'm right next door...

Ah yes - you are now (wanna go for a beer or two or eight??); but, at the time that I posted that comment, I was on leave and thus it would have been a young Medic Cpl who was actually next door & I'm quite shy & timid in person actually ... who would have then had to gouge out his eyes. I simply could not be responsible for such an act having to occur.

I am thinking that I need to order me up a pair of those tactical sandals - will go with the already-owned bikini that I'll never be caught dead in.  :-\

Sailors wearing sandals is BS!

If soldiers have to wear black boots in Canada when it's 40C then the Marines can, too.

No excuse for sandals in the modern day and age.  Perhaps the nice shorts and absurdly-high-socks look.

speaking of shorts and high socks i'll have to search through some of my old Aussie navy pics see if I can find the shorts with high socks.but as you can see not the most attractive look http://www.navy.gov.au/Uniforms i hated that regular summer day uniform

That uniform is legendary in CF submarine circles.  The first RAN exchange officer sailing on our O-boats showed up for work in that rig at the start of summer dress - coupled with a winter parka - in the midst of a Halifax spring blizzard.  Now that was an attractive look!

Does anyone realize that the CF actually used to issue sandals to sailors going to tropical areas?  They were butt-ugly, but functional.  The only reason we stopped issuing them was because our stock ran out and we couldn't find a manufacturer willing to make new ones (that were that ugly) without charging us a huge amount to re-tool a production line.  Now sailors simply use their own sandals, provided they meet certain criteria (e.g. no pink plastic thongs - at least not on your feet ).  You still see some of the old butt-ugly ones though...[

;D

I have been searching for a pic since this thread was split.  I STILL have mine at home - some sharp eyed Supp Tech MWO has probably kept them on my docs...
