Yeah, I know, I know, it's not all about the money, but as someone who is extremely interested in joining up with the CAF, I would like to what what I'm getting into pay wise. I understand everything is relative to rank, etc, but I would just like to know generally what the income would look like. When do you start getting payed? As soon as you ship off to BMQ? Once you finish? If you start getting paid in BMQ, how much? If not, when do you? When you finish Basic Training and go into your specialized training, is there a pay increase? If so, how much generally?. Also, if someone could provide me with an updated list of what each rank makes. I read somewhere a Private makes around 29k a year? That seems like barely enough to survive, is that correct? If you live on base, is food free, is accommodations free?. Sorry for the amount of questions! If someone could take the time to answer them it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Literally all of these questions have been answered on the forum, in fact I'm pretty sure theres a giant stickied thread on pay. Google Canadian Forces Pay Scale, you won't need to worry about anything above Private until you're about 4 years in.

In the Reg Force, you start getting paid the day you start travelling to attend BMQ.
