Navy Badges on Army / Air Force DEUs

The Navy issues a number of badges related to the tactical teams, namely the NBP, NST, and NTO badges. None of them are included in the Dress Instructions but they are currently worn by qualified members. Now question. If members qualified to wear any of those badges OT to Army / Airforce trades, do they get to wear those with the new element's DEU?

I can't speak for all of the badges listed, but no, generally they are not approved to be worn on any other dress but the Naval ones. Because the Navy decided it doesn't want to follow the proper dress regulations procedure for its dress.

I am noticing a trend of the Navy refusing to follow orders and proper procedures. Maybe some strategic firings are needed to remind them.

I've heard different variations of this with lots of people saying they are approved. Considering all random crap everyone wears, not really a stretch to say they are G2G, regardless of what the official policy says.

They are approved by the RCN dress committee for wear on the uniforms the RCN controls (NCD, Coveralls, RCN DEU).

The army has DEU badges the RCN and RCAF can't wear, like Div and Brigade patches.

Like I said, all made up. We have a CAF dress committee, with a section on specialist skill badges. There are a plethora of authorized badges that can be worn. The RCN should simply go through the proper procedures to get their specialist skill badges recognized.

The S in RCN stands for special.

And the CAF has authorized each element to have its own dress committee, and delegated authority to those committees to make decisions... Almost as if the CAF recognized that one-size-fits-all solutions aren't usually the best solutions.

There is / was a CFAO on qualification badges.

It probably needs a simple update, some overarching principles, and direction to the L1s on how to do things.

Because a NWO turned Army Int O should be able to wear his magic moustache on his sleeve in CADPAT.

Hilariously if you read the RCN dress instructions the morale patch approval is basically unit chief, with some guidelines on appropriateness. Guess how little most unit Chiefs care if you are a random RCN person in NCDs in a largely Army/Airforce unit?

Had a Movember morale patch, wondering if I can get away with a 'May the 4th' one, or some XMas ones.

IF (big if) the RCN is "blocking" (which they can't) a Domestic Ops medal is because all naval operations are Dom Ops basically. As are most Airforce Operations. Hence why the RCN introduced the Sea Service Insignia to recognize all the operations sailors do (by way of counting sea days) that aren't counted.

Army stops LARPing for two weeks to respond to a flood in Quebec (again) and they want a medal for it.

Considering the Navy is the number one service for participation medals, just doing their jobs on ship it is a pot calling the kettle black.
