I read the article you provided and only saw references to the RCMP and USCG. I did not see any references to the RCN or USN.

You're right. I guess my point was that a joint US/CDN constabulary program already exists. I'm not convinced plugging either navy into that is necessary.

We had those on very rare occasions but nothing major at all. Again prevailing winds are NW'rly and south winds not generally very strong. Usually when you had the strongest winds they came from the west or southwest which paralleled our shoreline.

They can get very big depending on how long the winds last.

The is a FB post today showing a time lapse near Rondeau where you can the water rise and cover rocks. I would copy and paste it if I knew how.

Great Lakes marine AIS shows everything that isn't in a river to be tucked into sheltered bay in every lake except Ontario.
