Good day everyone! Im new to the subject and need your advice or clarification.
I'm 21 and coming autumn will be graduating from York with Honours BA in Poli Science. My future plans are to go in to law school. However, with focus on good GPA and part-time work I have not fostered the soil for next year application, plus choosing law school, LSAT etc requires time, thus I will have probably a year-year and half break before going after graduating. Curretly I work part-time in retail which suits me during school, but during the year prior to law I would want to work somewhere more concrete to create a back-up.
One of my good friends joined the reserves last year and thus I got an idea what if to fill the space with service in the army.
It now seems that Part-time service in clerical position would be the best option meanwhile I prepare for graduate school.
I've read upon the jobs in the army and am particullary interested in intelligence service. This is the option that both attracts me and seems as best alternative in case that I post phone law school.
From what I've read/heard with a university degree it will be possible for me to go straight in to officers?
However, it also seems that intelligence service requires six-or three month training in Kingston?
I am also not fully clear on what specific programs I will need to complete in the army if going to officer from university. BMQ, Intelligence school seem clear, but with direct entry will I have to complete officer courses and any other? Bit confused here...
Anyhow, so this is how I see it - and correct me if I'm wrong somewhere:
Scenario : Get in, do bmq during 2013-2014 year, intelligence school in summer 2014 and then part-time reserve work for 2 years while applying and going to law school.
Is there something that I missed? Where do officer courses fit in?
If officer courses require more time, is it a better alternative to go for intelligence operator? Or does a degree automatically qualify myself for officer?
Will the intelligence operator training be shorter and let me operate part-time by after-next year?
What time do I need to apply to get into reserves by next study year?
Thank you in advance for your attention and help!

Wow a lot of questions in one post..

From your training scenario you are missing BMOQ L which is field training, I am not sure about the officer course but for ncm's it is one month in the summer.

I believe that you cannot go directly into the operator role, only the officer route and as to when to apply I would say the earlier the better.

Also, if you are considering a clerical position, look into Logistics Officer or RMS Clerk.
