I am leaving for Meaford for BMQ in two days.I still have not received kit and i tried all i could think of and even asked for help from people in my unit.

If anyone had an experience with attending BMQ without kit or seen this happened to someone could you tell me what would happen to me?

The reason why I could not get my kit yet is because outlet in Denison Armoury is closed this entire week.

This happens,  some people didn't have kit until the 6th weekend on my basic. It is not "on", but it happens.

People on my course got issued coveralls until they got their kit.

What will likely happen is you'll either borrow pieces from instructors or get it temporarily issued from Meaford.

When I was in Meaford for my sq they managed get half the course issued a second pair of boots to keep.

Let your course staff know the second you get there..

What I'd suggest is bring a few casual pairs of clothes I. E khakis or something and comfortable shoes.  Also bring a backpack to transport stuff to and from class.  Get a water bottle as well. Also bring multiple pairs of socks,  a jacket,  pt gear (shorts t shirt and shoes) as well as a shaving kit with your own sandals and a towel. Also get a boot polishing kit,(  buffer brush,  tooth brush,  black polish and a applicator brush.)

Meaford is generally pretty good. Though they are having a kit shortage in the clothing stores, they were told that they are only doing a one for one exchange on non vital kit and are only repairing combats or giving one for one on 50% fade.

That being said, they will probably issue you boots, ruck, sleeping gear, combats, shirts, etc. All the necessary kit for BMQ and what ever course you are doing after (if any).

It is not uncommon for them to arrange a day to Borden with other members in your position since Borden has a larger clothing store...

It is weird that your unit sent you unprepared, Meaford is not a new training centre and they have always stated that their clothing stores are not to be used for initial issue equipment.

So all in all, you will be fine, the army will never discipline you for something that you could not control, especially something like this.
As was stated above, just tell your staff when you can, and they will accommodate you.

Good luck, I am in Meaford instructing right now, so I guess I'll know exactly who you are if I have a troop with no kit.... enjoy your time in the meaf while you can, and have fun.

Thank you all very much. I feel so much better and relieved.

I will be seeing you at Meaford instructor.

I totally want to do my basic in Meaford .. I'm originally from the Northern Part of Ontario ... so I would be in my own backyard :)

Hope it all worked out for you OP
