Obligatory Service after CMOT

Hello all,

I have a question regarding Releases.
I joined as a RegF member under ROTP civilian university and completed my undergrad degree, therefore I owe obligatory service as part of my statement of understanding. Recently I was put on a PCat and subsequently was CMOT to another trade, after I failed to meet the universality of Service because of medical reasons.
My question is, after reading
  • DAOD 5049-1 (Obligatory Service)
  • DAOD 5023-1 (Universality of Service)
I can’t find anything that explicitly states whether or not obligatory service carries over. Does it? Neither reference truly explains along with my records from the OT. These kinds of situations create “grey areas” for the member however a direct answer for my awareness is appreciated. Thanks.

If you did not meet UoS you'd be released 3A or 2B, and oblig service would not apply.

As you are still serving, albeit in a new occupation, your oblig service will continue to apply.
