Off Grid Homesteading

Well we did it. We're pulling the trigger, the offer (which as all ready been accepted) goes in today.

Not the 25 acres I actually wanted, but this works for us too. We will use the existing cabin a bunkie while we build the main camp this summer.

As for the space, I have very close access to thousands of acres of crownland. Thats good enough for me! Will post more as the work progresses.

Is the thousand acres close by or someplace completely different?

Also.... does your thousand acres of land have any signs posted that say "no hunting without owner's permission?" :D

I will a have 8+ acres. With a food plot and tree stand already in place.

The sub dived properties are surrounded by 1000s of acres of crown land on the northern side.

We walked to them in about 10 mins. By ATV or truck not enough to warm the engine up.

Ah ok I misunderstood. I feel stupid for having thought you "also owned a 1000 acres of crown land", which doesn't make any sense.

Remember Type 2 Concertina obstacles and an anti zombie ditch….

Heck of a nice pick up. Cabin alone is worth about $10k at auction and you didn't need to move it.

Very jealous of land prices though. While the per acre is similar to me locally smaller parcels tend to be about 3-5x what farmland rates work out to be.

That'd be at least double the cost out west here.

Thanks! We're pretty excited. Now comes all the leg work and admin lol

And then building... Which is fun to me...
