Hi, I Just have a question about officer employment. I am currently an infantry reservist and after i finish school i plan on applying for reg force infantry officer but, I am now in a sort of jam. On my apptitude test the tester informed me that I had just missed a couple of points to allow me to become an officer but enough to be employed in all trades. Where do i go from here I really would like to adventually  become an officer. Any help would be greatly appriciated thank you

Firstly, finish your education. Consider upgrading marks in weaker subjects if you can.  Ask again what areas you were weaker in and read up on those subjects. Diversify your knowledge base. Read... everything.

Something that will help you here: proper spelling, punctuation and sentence structure. (This is also help in your quest to become an Infantry officer.)

You can always enlist as a regular NCM and then CFR or go UTPNCM later. There's those ways too.

May I point out that Advent only occurs once a year.

Numerous threads here repeat the same thing over and over again.  Education.  Education.  Education.  We have also preach over and over again about the proper use of written English in respect to spelling, punctuation, grammar, sentence structure, etc.  One has to be able to clearly and concisely communicate in the written form as a member of the CF, no matter what rank they may be, but especially if one hopes of becoming an officer.

Things sure have changed since 1971 with respect to recruitment. I recall walking in and completing the aptitude test that same day and having it checked while I waited at the front counter. The desk officer wouldn't accept my application for other ranks, any trade, and would only accept it for an officer.

You still have to meet officer cutoff on the CFAT.  Certainly for UTP, not sure about CFR (but I would guess so).  You're afforded another opportunity to write it if you are interested in applying.
