I was in the reserves back in '97, and released in 2001, and then applied to the regular forces a year later. My file was closed due to my criminal record as a teeager, and I was told to obtain a pardon if I wished to pursue it further. The criminal record was never a problem when I joined the reserves, so I am not sure why it was an issue the second time, but I suppose that is irrelevant at this point. My question is this: If I had my reg. forces application closed due the record, will my old file which contains the info on my record (which is now pardoned) be available to the recruiters the second time around? Should I mention that I did get my pardon, or should I just avoid it? It just seems slightly dishonest not to mention it. I could not get a straight answer at the recruiting center so that is why I ask here, and hopefully kincanucks is best able to answer.
Thanks in advance
