Moin,
how is a Canadian Infantry Bn (Light and Armored) broken down?
How many Coys? Platoons? LAVIII?
I tried the search but the only thinks Ive found were the suggestions of members how it would be (Manoeuvre Bn)

thx Navor

EDIT Ifound the detailed Chart from Steelbadger on New Light Infantry Structure. Is it actual?
I didn't know that in English Orbat is also a term for Organization, so I'm sorry.
I'm trying to find Me ch nonetheless

Don't get too wrapped up about the "official" organization of a Canadian Infantry Battalion, because it's probably about to start changing again as we continue to develop the Army for today's operations. The world changes, so force structure needs to change too, or we risk being irrelevant. You could even say that Infantry units have three separate "Orbats":

"On paper-in Garrison": this is what the Army says a battalion is supposed to consist of , if all the people and bits and pieces are actually there. It is really just a model for force structure and never (or almost never...) exists 100%. Instead you are more likely to see:

'Reality-in Garrison": this is what the current Army is actually able to man and equip against the ideal model above. This is normally less (sometimes alot less) than the "official" orbat. In particular, because of the way we now manage vehicles and major combat systems as  whole fleets across the Army, instead of  by unit, no two Inf bns will look the same at any given time. And, when we put together an Inf unit for an operation overseas, we go to:

"Deployed Infantry Battlegroup": this is how the Army structures an Inf unit to go on ops overseas. The HQ and usually two companies of an existing battallion are combined with Armour, Engineers, Artillery, and other supporting arms and services into a task force structure designed for that specific mission. No two are exactly the same.

Cheers
