Looks like they dodged this year's winter heating angle.
Nova Scotia has already addressed it.I am waiting to hear the publics reaction.

Protect your money, make a contingency plan to eventually leave, I know I am.
My entire problem with this Government's environmental policy is that it's based on a negative mindset. It is anti-capitalist and rather than seeking new ways to do things through process improvement and innovation, it would rather achieve its objectives by limiting growth and stifling enterprise. It seeks to control everything and centralize it all in the hands of a few.And they will probably win again.
We have been pulled, at accelerating speed, into socialism or communism or facism or globalism (take your pick). My entire problem with this Government's environmental policy is that it's based on a negative mindset. I also believe the current Government leans authoritarian and it wants to consolidate all economic, political and social control in the Ottawa-centered Technocracy who believe they know what is best for the rest of us, regardless of how far away and disconnected they are.
It's the exact opposite of the type of Country I want to live in and contribute my efforts to. There is no innovation in this Country any more, no drive to build something better, I feel like we have nobody anywhere near the halls of power that has any sort of vision that makes me want to follow.
All of the really talented people are heading South.
My dad in NB switched from firewood to mini-split heat pumps a few years ago and said his power bill didn’t change at all but now he doesn’t have to buy/move/pile wood or start/tend the fireplace. It’s a pretty popular switch there. It’s subsidized by the tyrannical government. Is home heating oil still widely used in NS? I swtiched over my house in Halifax 15 years ago to a wood fire, and it paid for itself in a single winter, but at the time the price had gone doubled and was costing something like $600/month for heating oil (old drafty house with bad insulation).
It was a bit lean for a bit to pay for the fireplace, but I would have had to move otherwise.
What’s the difference once NBP pulls the subsidy? My dad in NB switched from firewood to mini-split heat pumps a few years ago and said his power bill didn’t change at all but now he doesn’t have to buy/move/pile wood or start/tend the fireplace. The installation/purchase was subsidizedWhat’s the difference once NBP pulls the subsidy?
And it’s a $h!t-ton of work!Wood isn't a practical option in most urban areas. Neither is coal. It's fine to do something with all the beetle-killed timber, but eventually people will have to confront the insanity of burning perfectly healthy trees.
Exercise.And it’s a $h!t-ton of work!
