I have a deformity in the chest called Pectus Carinatum which makes my sternum stick out.  Other then having a bone sticking out of my chest I haven't really noticed any side effects of having PC, but then again I've had it for as long as i remember.  There is corrective surgery for PC but it will basically put me out of commission for 3 months.  I'm just wondering If it would be possible to join the military even if I have PC, or would I need surgery before I think of joining.

Just a quick off topic question.  Are you able to acquire your drivers license while in the military?

Scaly,

Sorry, we're not doctors. Nor can we diagnose over the internet. The only people that can tell you anything for sure would be the Med staff at the Recruiting Centre. You'll have to check with them. Anything else would be a guess.

Yes you can get your driver's license in the military. They won't provide it for you though. You'll have to do the normal civvie thing.

Good luck.
