Personnel Selection (PSEL)

Hi, I've searched the forum as well as looked at the job description for PSEL but I've yet to discover if the initial occupational training takes place at one of the larger training hubs in the CF, i.e. Borden or does it take place at one of many CF locations as an OJT type of package.

Can anyone shed some light on the training progression for PSEL after BMOQ.

Thanks.

From here (found by typing PSEL in Google):

http://www.psel.org/school2.htm

To CFTDC at Borden is where the PSEL Basic course is taught.  Three seconds of effort.

Used to be entirely OJT until (I think) 2006.  Now it's a combination of Classroom at CFTDC in Borden and OJT.  As with all institutional change, there is still some misinformation out there, so if you ask around people may tell you it's OJT.  But there is now a classroom part of about 3 months.

Generally (always exceptions) after BOTP you get posted to your first posting to begin the OJT portion with an experienced PSelO, go to Borden for the 3-ish months, return to finish the OJT.  At that time you are considered trained and begin the "real" work.  Obviously, depending how much time there is between BOTP and the PSel BQC, the system can get mixed up, but that's the concept.

I'm sorry I stole three seconds from you.

I've learned my lesson, I won't ask anymore questions on this forum. But I reserve the right that is inherent on a member of this board to pounce on others who make the same mistake.

Or maybe I'll post a response that doesn't answer the original question set forth (psel.org does not list anywhere on its website the training plan for those in the PSEL moc)but seize the opportunity to chatise the person who asked a question.

...or maybe I'll be just ignore the sarcasm and try and help out somebody if I can (thanks exgunnertdo)...from here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altruism) found by tying altruism into wikipedia.

Suck it up buttercup.  And where in your original post do you ask for the training plan?  I provided an answer to " but I've yet to discover if the initial occupational training takes place at one of the larger training hubs in the CF, i.e. Borden or does it take place at one of many CF locations as an OJT type of package".  It takes place at CFTDC in Borden.

And how do you translate my response to "but seize the opportunity to chatise the person who asked a question.".  Perhaps your sensitivities would be better served in some other organization than the CF.

Grow up.

You asked a question for which you could have easily found your own answer.  You got called on it.  Now stop acting like a petulant brat.

Hello:

Looking into CA PRes PSEL (PSO).  Are there any PRes PSEL's out there who can tell me about the course and their experiences with the position?  Thank you.

Thank you Mario Mike. I have read all these posts. This thread is old and does not address the new CA PRes PSEL 6 week course.  Thank you for your time.

I used this as my guideline for merging your PSEL post with the PSEL discussion, rather than start another PSEL discussion,

Necroposting - Not always a bad idea

We are making an effort to keep our topics merged, as much as possible.
