…Yes, which is basically exactly the point I was alluding to. My <20km suburban-urban commute is precisely why a PhEV use case applies really well to me. Those living/working in areas or whose lifestyles (or even simply preferences) are not so conducive to PhEV or full EV use are just as welcome to stick with what works for them. I know that applies to many Canadians. I was just pointing out that large pickups are probably not a good barometer to be applied more broadly.

I think he was talking abouta hybrid scenario - which is completely logical. I bought a hybrid Corolla last year and I love it for my long drives to Rhode Island or rural Pennsylvania to see my daughter at uni or down to Windsor. I routinely get over 650km on 32-34L of gas.
Hybrids and plugin hybrids are the way to go now and into the next decade.
