Burning expensive diesel to protest diesel prices, and clogging up traffic for everyone. No government body dictates hauling rates in Canada, it's the free market.

All this is going to do is get the opposite of sympathy from everyone, who are also dealing with those same prices directly and indirectly too.

Actual truckers need to move loads to get paid. They can also charge higher rates to cover their costs if they wish to.

I’m not worried about some sustained protest of actual working truck drivers in any significant numbers. There may be a brief symbolic thing, but the costs will simply get passed on to the consumer.

Realistically the only thing that's going to solve this is ending the war be it via a win, lose, or drop everything and go home.

An export ban on diesel wouldn't solve anything, the companies would just import less crude and thus refine a whole lot less. The US government has no way to force them to continue refining at current levels after a ban.

That would require the "N" word, nationalization.

And that is absolutely not going to happen especially with a Republican government lmao.

From my understanding, it's not a level playing field and lot of TFW were brought in to drive trucks, bringing the price the haulage companies were willing to pay drivers way down.

Forcing companies to hire people already here and properly trained will help solve that.
