Great excerpts - I LOVED Brit ITN's "Battle Stripes", the multi-part series that followed a platoon full o' Corporals taking the course.  I'd love to be able to find it on DVD, but I can't even find it in UK/European format  :(

Yes, I've been looking for it myself. I know a couple of people in the training wing at Brecon during that series. Let me know if you come across it.

The SCBC and PSBC were both adopted by the Army in the 70s after they were started by the Parachute Regiment in the 60s in a effort to bring up the standard of battlefield leadership which, due to conscription, was pretty abysmal. They used to put Parachute Regiment junior officers through the course as well, right after Sandhurst, but discontinued that when the Infantry School started up the PCBC.
