Hello,

Does anyone know if you apply to a police service, take one of their polygraph tests and do not pass, will this need to be recorded on the DND application?

Will the security clearance done by a police station need to be recorded on the DND application?

What I'm getting at is:  do we have to tell the recruiters @ DND that we applied for police service and if we were rejected or not?

Thanks.

I love your posts.

You definitely think outside the box, way beyond I ever would.

Listen...  if the military DOESNT ask you, DON'T volunteer any info.

Although Kincanucks is the specialist in recruiting, I'm almost positive I can say...  the
answer to everything you asked is No.  So keep your mouth shut if you're not asked.

if you failed a polygraph test, one can safely assume that it is because you are a liar. Don't enlist.

DOH...

See, if I didn't have to be somewhat pastoral, my posts would be more like this.  ;)

Being pastoral doesn't mean having to be sheepish.

Trinity,

I am going to have a polygraph for a civilian job with a Police dept. in 2 weeks and I asked the question in the event that I failed it.

If you are making fun of me, it's not too cool.  If you are serious: thanks.

I don't think he is making fun of you but he should. ;D  If you are not specifically asked about it, and I don't see why you would be, you don't have to mention it.

There is no real way that topic is going to come up in the interview unless you purposely divulge info about it.

ie:
You: "Well I tried to join the Police force once"
Recruiter: "What happened with that"
You = stuck

If the reasons you failed the polygraph was because you were just nervous or whatever, then I wouldn't be afraid to tell them that.  If you failed because you lied....... then thats just not good.

Hello,

I noticed on the application it asks if you've ever had a security clearance done before.  I think it's just a security clearance done for the government of Canada, no?

Security clearances are probably all the same because they go through RCMP, so wouldn't I need to put this down on my application?

Try CSIS.........

I am getting a headache.

It is called a Enhanced Reliability Check not a security clearance and it checks, in addition to other things, to see if there are any criminal or credit hits on you.  For the last time you don't have to mention your application to the police unless specifically asked about it and you can check off no on the form.

Thanks- your answer implied "all security clearances go through CSIS" and they dont. I was expanding not correcting.  ::)

How about some Yerba Mate?  I think it would be detectable in the urine for 2 years after consumption, so I better watch out on the urine test!  :crybaby:  I AM JOKING! :-*
