Political impacts of Ukraine war

South Korea is looking to further deepen ties with Europe.

Russia disliked the above I guess.

Interesting bit of backstory/timeline on how USA and GBR int was not heeded pre-latest-USSR 2.0 invasion.
Another problem: seemed UKR's government didn't believe the few mil folks who said, "yeah, it's when, not if."

We're going to need more missiles...

Ukraine’s Air Force said it has destroyed more than 140,000 aerial targets since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022, including over 2,000 Kh-101 cruise missiles and roughly 44,000 Shahed-type attack drones.

The figures were released in an official statement by the Ukrainian Air Force Command summarizing four years of air defense operations.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force Command, air defense units intercepted a wide range of missile types used in Russian strike campaigns. The service reported destroying 86 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles, 709 Kalibr cruise missiles, and 2,459 Kh-101 cruise missiles during the conflict. The data also includes 13 Kh-22/Kh-32 cruise missiles and 12 Oniks anti-ship missiles.

The Air Force further stated that Ukrainian defenses intercepted 261 Iskander-K cruise missiles and 274 Iskander-M or KN-23 ballistic missiles. Eleven Zircon anti-ship missiles and 30 missiles classified as other types were also destroyed, alongside 540 guided air-launched missiles.

Hopefully "Key Sovereign Capability" #2 from the DIS will kick into gear soon:

Ammunition - Common Ammunition; Battle-Decisive Munitions; Small Arms; Missiles and Bombs

Maybe we'd better start with 'some' missiles ;)

lots of APKWS for drones instead of AIM 120s or worse?

Layers

Start with waves, progress to wave-particles and onwards to particles.

If you can throw it, it is part of the solution.

So, how did Ukrainian drones get into the Med? Anyone? Buehler?

Probably still maintaining a presence in Syria, just like in Africa. The interim government there might be feeling more comfortable with it now, with all that's going on with Russia's shrinking list of friends.
That's a long, long, long way to move a drone - from the coast of Syria to the coast of Libya. That would be across a significant US warship presence (and maybe French/British) in the east end of the Med.

Any freighter could have been employed as a mother ship or even one of those fancy yachts that inhabit San Moritz and other such exotic ports of call. Wouldn't take a lot to trailer a couple down or ship a complete set in a 40' can.
