Good Morning all,
I going thru a bit of a situation regarding my move and IRP here in Ottawa is impossible to get in touch with in a timely manner.
I'm posted to BC with a COS of 13 Jul 15.
I went on my HHT last month and was unable to find accommodation so I went to CFHA. I was told by the nice person there that they would be able to offer me a PMQ in early August and to expect the offer mid July. I asked if I was possible to get this in writing and was told that it wasn't since the unit was not vacant yet. But, I was told to tell Brookfield that the unit would be available early Aug.
I returned to Ottawa and did exactly that, the adviser and I set up everything so I would RFD 04 Aug 15 CoC approved and everything was GTG.
Now yesterday I contacted CFHA in Comox to get a status update on the unit and was told that the unit would not be available in time and that the offered would not come until 27 Jul 15. They also told me that, they didn't know how long it would take for them to prepared the unit for a new occupant and that it could take up to a month.
My problem is that right now, I have the mover, the cleaner, the hotel and everything else booked for what was supposed to be my departure and RFD dates.
Brookfield advice me that I could have my F&E in SIT storage but that they would only cover 20 days and anything past that I would be responsible for all the cost associated with the move since it wasn't a door to door move. On top of that, CFHA told me that if I was to spend a dollar out of pocket for the storage of my F&E in Comox they would considered that a completed move and I would be put into a priority 2 category and not be entitled to a PMQ.
I'm not too sure what my options are at this point.
IR for a month or so could be an option but the issue is that it's me and my son here in Ottawa. I have family in BC that could take care of him but if we both go my understanding is that it can't be IR.
I'm sorry for the long post but I have always find some kind of an answer here and I'm hoping the army.ca will be able to come thru once again.
Cheers
