PPCLI MOC Course Question

I just received and accepted my offer to transfer to PPCLI from the reserves.  They dropped me from Mcpl. to Private(B),  took away all my course qualifications (Para, JLC/JNCO) and want me to redo MOC training in Wainwright.

The clerk at the recruiting office told me to bring up the situations with my superior when I get to Wainwright and maybe they could get me out to a battalion asap.

Is there anyone that I could contact in Wainwright now to look into it?

If I'm going to spend 10 weeks on course I would rather it be learning something new that just redoing something I have already done to death.

One good idea is to dig out your Crse Reports and bring them, or preferably copies, with you when you arrive.  If you took any Reg Force courses, you should still be credited for them.  Bring your Crse Reports, and they will make a decision at your gaining Unit.

Do what George suggests...I've seen candidates sent pretty much straight to Bn if they are obviously over qualified for BIQ/battleschool.  Time in may be against you though, it's nice to have all your courses and what not,  but if you only have a short time in with no overseas tours, the board may have decided you needed to gain more experience.  Whatever the case just go with the flow...you'll get there soon enough.  I'd probably try and fight losing all your courses though especially para considering that is a total force course.  Ask your 2IC on course or at Bn how to do it or do it yourself by researching the CFAO's.

When did you do your PLQ? Did you do the new PRes version that is exactly the same as the the RegF one?

When I transfered they counted my driver wheel and basic pioneer.  The pioneer was a no brainer in my opinion as it was run by reg force with reg force pers on the course.  As mentioned get all the applicable paper work and hopefully they will at least credit you for your courses whether you have to go do your BIQ again or not.

I've have 7 years in.  I was told that I didn't have enough class "B" time.  The JLC/JNCO had Reg force candidates with Reg force instructors.

I honestly don't think you can do anything till you get to Wainwright.  Worse case scenario is you redo the training...which seems like a bit of a waste to me but I don't know your file or you.  Show up ready to soldier, show you have mastered the basics and explain the situation to your instructors and let it go from there.

I would definitely fight not getting courses granted....if they had Reg Force candidates on them or were totalforce courses.

That sounds kinda odd, having your JNCO, and them not accrediting it. I know the PLQ is total force, I am not sure about the JNCO. The jump course should still be valid. All I can say is ditto to what has been said.

For one thing, don't listen to the clerk because if I was your course NCO, it is way too late to change things when you are returning for duty. You got a raw deal but remember this.........."be careful what you ask for, you might just get it!!!" Good luck to you
