This, from MERX:
.... The Department of National DEFENCE (DND) has a requirement for the Army Field Force (both Regular and Reserve) to supply personnel to augment Individual and Collective Training (IT/CT) activities at Army Training Establishments (ATEs). This requirement places a great deal of pressure on the Army to significantly reduce Field Force augmentation of IT/CT activities with a view to reducing unit tempo and developing a self-sustaining training system.

The objective is to use civilian contractors and Public Servants throughout the Army to perform many of the instructional and associated training support activities for which military augmentees are currently responsible. There also exists the possibility of freeing up military instructor and training support positions resident in the various ATEs to civilian positions, thereby allowing the military personnel to be used elsewhere to provide relief to the Field Force.

This Requriement is for Driver Wheeled Training which will be provided to a number of military bases across Canada. The training will consist of basic military driving and vehicle maintenance. Instructional and/or support personnel will either teach selected classes and/or support specific classroom, hanger (sic.) and field training. Upon completion of training students will be qualified to operate core Standard Military Pattern vehicles.  The training will be conducted on an as and when requested basis. The period of contract will be from date of award to 31 March 2011 with an option to extend for one additional year ....
