Even if you have the MG Course you don't have the 9mm Pistol and the small arms coaching portion, thats why even gunners need to take the course. There should be a weekend or 2 for a upgrade.
The ISCC will be back in 2005. PLQ, for us....the Infantry, will be scrapped...along with the present DP2B.
If you have the PLQ, but haven't gotten the DP2B yet, you had better get on the phone, because the way this army is, you WILL have to do the ISCC from start to finish if you aren't allready qualified...
A little update, got a little bit of mis-information back there...
For the Reserves, it will remain the PLQ(L) + the DP2B to qualify for promotion to MCpl (+DP2A(PSWQ) of course)
For the Regular Infantry, it will soon be the PLQ(infantry) course to be qualified to MCpl(essentially the old ISCC)
To qualify to Sgt, both Reg and Res take the DP3A.
Doug, is there any changes to the curriculum of the Reg Force PLQ(Infantry)? Sounds like the Regs didn't like the modulization of courses (don't blame 'em) and just went back to the way it worked before.
Again, this doesn't bode well for the reserves to have two seperate standards for JNCO's now.
With Small Arms Coaching being on the PSW course is the Small Arms Coach Course still being run?
With the PSW course only being 23 odd days I do not expect that it covered SAC'ing as well as the SAC Course. Anyone know?
As an aside... Just finished reading the "new'ish" Shoot to Live publication. Good pub if anyone has not read it, I highly reccomend it (for a CF Pub). If anyone here is from DAT 3-6 good work.
PSWQ - what a fricking waste.
So much for skill at arms in the CF this the ultimate copout course.
With the demise of Mortat Pl we needed some IF assets - but the 60mm at Pl level aint it.
Eryx - dont get me started...
Pistol - fine - no one in the CF ever get enough time with them (range) outside thew Hill
MG - hhm mine was 11 weeks - so you tell me someone can learn in one week the theory of MG fire - and how to site and employ a MG?
SAC - once again - skill at arms cut - a few season on the rifle team - oops CFSAC is cancelled these days - well so much for markmanship
:warstory: I did my SAC with the FN C1A1 so...
They had better can this before we all go down the tubes...
