What is the ruck and what is the velise?

the ruck is the back back with the metal frame and the valise is the bag you put your sleeping bag in tha straps to the bottom of the ruck

Ruck part is where you hold all you goodies.. ie...shirts...socks... spare gear. Valise is where your sleeping bad/bivvy bag goes into in storage.
