Hello Everyone,
I have recently been granted a CT from Res Infantry to Reg Sup Tech. I have been awarded all of my crse's (BMQ/SQ) and will shortly be posted to Borden for what sounds like PRETC until my QL3 (rumour mill said the closest QL3 after Feb was cancelled).

I was wondering what the crse schedule for Sup Tech QL3 was like as this will be my first reg force crse and from what I can tell it sounds like Mon-fri 8-4? Not something I am used to.

As well I have a "non-declared" common-law girlfriend who I would like to bring with me but not sure what were entitled to, or if I will be required to live in shacks? Am I better off declaring our common-law status prior to my contract start date?
We currently live 2.5 hrs from Borden so it makes it hard with only having one vehicle (she requires) to commute home on weekends.

Sorry if this has been covered in another thread, did some searching and came up with just more questions.
Would love to chat with someone who has been through similar.

If the CF knows nothing about her don't expect her to be entitled to move with you and get a PMQ(if PRETC/CFSAL students are even eligible for that), etc

If you want her to get benefits,  be able to move with you, etc start the paperwork ASAP.  You can't just show up with your girlfriend in Borden and surprise them with this and ask for a PMQ.

The Joys of my unit being on stand down for the Christmas holidays is I wont be able to file any paperwork prior to the day I hand in my VR from the reserves.
A little off topic but I am trying to sell the benefits to her of declaring Common law, but only being able to say "benefits and paid move" wasnt descriptive enough. Is there many other benefits (other then being together) that are associated with declaring common law? (Not a huge issue, but apparently she doesn't want to be "legally common law" she wants to be married, but no money/time/ring for that right now.

Thanks Skeletor that's a huge help.
I wonder if anyone has any idea on crse dates/schedules?

I am at BMQ right now (well on holidays) but friend of mine is at Borden and it looks like April for the next course.

Stacked,  consider the context of the discussion here.  Because a single member can get a PMQ once fully qualified and posted to a unit/base does not mean a single member in PRETC/QL3 student will be eligible for a PMQ.
