Question about Child's Birth Certificate

Hey I'm posted in Kingston doing training and have a question about when my child is born.  My wife is having the baby elsewhere until I get my permanent posting, and if I'm not there to sign my child's birth certificate... what happens?  Can I sign it later or will he be unable to be my Dependant?  Thanks in advance.

You're not getting out of it that easily. You can register births electronically (in Ontario).
