Hi, I am a 24 years old male who would like to join the CF.  First I just would like to say that I am very serious about this.

Now about my back ground:

-I was born in S.Korea but now I am a Canadian citizen.
-I went to high school in U.K.( finished in 2005).
-I went to OCAD university in Toronto and graduated with BFA in Photography in 2009.
-For two years I've been self employed (freelance photographer).
-Now I live in Vancouver.

Well this pretty much sums up my life til now.  I am targeting to join a Reg force and be a Imagery Technician.  I do not have any kind of illness or disease.  My physical strength isn't up to what they require so I am training hard to meet the requirements.  And finally my question would be do you see any problems or difficulty I might have joining the CF? If you do any suggestions to improve?  I am going to see a recruiter to ask more detailed question about the whole process but any info is very welcome to me.  I leave my contact info at the bottom.

Thank you.

I would strongly suggest removing your contact info from your post. Easy way to get spammed, trolled, etc.

As for the actual question, recruiting centers are always the best place to check out. The forces.ca website is also a very good resource.

Start a workout regimen. The physical training threads can give a lot of info.  Make sure you get a copy, either PDF or paper of the physical testing requirements.  Aim to exceed the minimums.

Depending on where you work out, tap the resources that might be available there.  I train at a YMCA - they should have personal trainers on staff who can assist you make your goals.  One of the big things is muscle endurance as well as strength, so you'll want around 12-15 reps per set, and aiming for at least a 2 second lift and 2 second lower.

Based on what I've read of other people's experience, the process can take awhile.  If you are joining reg force, you won't do the testing until you arrive at St. Jean, so you'll have until then to prepare.  Some here have been waiting awhile, so making at least the minimums should be attainable, depending on your current condition.

Last I heard, and I'm not a recruiter, but imagery technician is no longer a direct entry trade, meaning you have to be in the CF already then switch trades to imagery tech.  Best to check with your local CFRC.
