Question reguarding Recruitment

I am looking for some advice,

With the new addition of a baby girl to my family, I am more than ever looking for a career option that will provide a stable and secure income.  I applied for the CF in 2014 but did not get to the interview and medical exam stage due to work and the timing. 
I am interested in getting involved with the reserves as a Med Tech, and have read about CF paying for education. 

Would my 2014 application effect a new application?
How can I better my chances of acceptance?
Are there other occupations that I should consider?  ( Fire, Medical Officer)
What can my family expect if I am approved?
    -relocation locations
    -income while in school
    -career placements
    -Timing of school or basic training (which comes first)



I am 27 yrs old,

My Qualifications:
-Firefighter NFPA 1 and 2
-Hazmat
-Search and rescue member
-Swift water rescue
-Avalanche rescue
-NUOFA 3 First Aid
-Forestry firefighter certifications

Experience:
- Firefighting (volunteer structural)
- Contract Forestry Firefighter
- Emergency Services Responder
- Search and Rescue Volunteer

There is much discussion about these things - and more - here already. Please take the time to explore older threads on this Site and try the Search Function. This saves repeating earlier answers, and rewards you by providing answers to other questions before you even think of them.

If you are looking for a full-time career, your odds of finding that in the Reserve Force are slim. Expect one evening per week, and a weekend or two per month, and some short periods of full-time for courses and possibly other forms of employment.

The CF will not completely fund university education for Reservists.

If you are looking for "a stable and secure income", you want to look at the Regular Force.
