Hello everyone,

Sorry if this has been answered already. I've searched the forum but couldn't find all the answers.
I have graduated from university with degree in Health Management few years ago. I work in public health. I filled out an application online fro Health Care Administrator already, waiting for them to respond. In the meantime, I read in the job posting that those with university degree would start on-the-job training following basic training. Now, on some other forums I read that supposedly your university degree lets you by-pass basic training. Is that true?
This will help with planning as basic training takes about 15 weeks.
Also, do you get paid during training? Again, has to be taken into consideration when you have bills to pay.

Thanks in advance

Your degree will NOT allow you to by-pass basic training. It MAY allow you to bypass some of your Occupation training though.

Yes you do get paid during training.

Good Luck!

Nearly all officers being accepted into programs now (including DEO - your likely entry point) need to have a degree.  And each of those officers go through BMOQ.  BMOQ is the basics on how to be a solider and officer - none of which was taught to you in a civilian institution. From the moment you are "hired" and sent to BMOQ, you will be paid for the training required to employ you within the CAF.
