I tried searching the forums but I either couldn‘t find it or I missed it. I am 16 and am hopefully going to Borden this summer for training. My question is, are there many 16 year olds and will I be treat any differently (like a little kid) because I am 16? All I want is to be treat like anyone else, I can do the same job as someone 25...

You will be treated the same as everyone else on your course. Age is not a factor, gender is not a factor, race is not a factor, religion is not a factor. You put on the green, and everyone is the same, everyone is expected to pull their weight, and no one is given a break.

Navy. I‘m just worried I‘ll be the only 16 year old there. Or is there usually more than 1?

On my basic, there were several 16 year olds and quite a few 17-18 year olds. But don‘t worry, you won‘t even notice the age difference after a while cause everyone gets treated the same no matter how old they are.

Good luck!

Thanks, today I completed mt CFAT and both medicals. I hope I get in :salute:

Im 16 too, and i got sworn in last week for BMQ this summer (infantry). I hope im not the only one either
:(

Nah thats awesome, its good to see you‘re on track early in life. You‘re miles ahead of the rest of the typical 16 year old..well at least me when I was 16. Don‘t stress it.

Dont worry about being singled out for your age, its not like high school were your going to made fun of with stupid little imature remarks youd find someone your age saying. There are alot of ppl your age doing the same thing, and i‘m 17 joining the regular forces as infantry so your not the only one going in young, just keep that in mind.

Pte_Lajeunesse,

So, we tried to clear this up by PM, but you chose to ignore it, let‘s try here.

Are we to understand:
a) You haven‘t joined yet, but are dispensing info on what it‘s like in the CF;
b) Your not sworn in, but you use the rank of Pte;
c) You haven‘t completed trades training, but call yourself Infantry; and
d) Your not Lincoln & Welland, but use their badge as your avatar (wonder how they feel about that. Actually I already know)

If any of the above is true, I think it‘s rather presumtuous to pass yourself off as a trained infanteer in the "Links & Winks". You have no place to be advising anyone on the CF. Don‘t be a poser and a troll.

If your information is correct, please clarify, as some of the L&W have no clue who you are and never heard of you.
