No it's not.The Canadian YouTube talk shows are having a meltdown. It’s like they think that everyone in the CAF is a cold blooded SEAL Team killer. It’s bloody comical.

Oh God.Jess Davis I think.
They way the story is being reported is.No it's not.
RE LAWs, realistically how hard would it be to get a tube off a range? Ive only ever done one LAW range but we only had 10 launchers so easy to count. At the end the ammo guy specifically accounted for all ten to return as salvage. He was telling me there are extra precautions as it is a complete weapon systems and not just ammo, thus more strict. Mind you this was 6-7 years ago and I haven't seen one since, could have just had a very diligent ammo NCO.
Is there any reality to that? Could a guy hypothetically "lose" a LAW into a ruck with an incompetent ammo NCO and lie during an ammo dec or is it more controlled?
I recall being BOS in 1 VP and read an entry in the log where a spouse called the BOS and said her husband had something with M72 on it. It happened early 1986 probablyDecades ago when 1VP was in Calgary. A few PTE’s went on tasking to Chilcotin. They helped themselves to a lot of stuff.
They flew their haul back on a WestJet aircraft
- you know the sort of very reasonable things to put on a passenger aircraft (C-4 blocks, Det cord, time fuze, Det caps (electric and non electric), and allegedly some M72’s.
I wasn’t part of it, I only became aware of it after an MP investigation occurred.
Depending on the range and who is there, theoretically almost anything can go missing.
Which is generally why you don’t put your least trustworthy folks doing certain jobs…

From what I can remember it was in a closet in the house......that's a whole new meaning for "coming out of the closet"Did he accidentally chuck it out of the car on the Malahat I wonder?
I’m professionally obligated to discourage that.Back in the 1970s, before I went Leg O, I was on a court martial panel of three Winnipeg Patricias that went AWOL from Dundurn taking a 3/4 ton truck and their sub-machine guns with them. Long story short they ended up in jail.

I remember that. The guy that found it posed with it by the highway in the launch position on his shoulder WITH THE TUBE EXTENDED! Glad the guy didn’t push the button.Did he accidentally chuck it out of the car on the Malahat I wonder?
He would have had to know enough to pull the cocking lever first, but, yeah…I remember that. The guy that found it posed with it by the highway in the launch position on his shoulder WITH THE TUBE EXTENDED! Glad the guy didn’t push the button.![]()

There was also an incident where a soldier from 2 VP went AWOL from WAINCON 77 with a jeep - I don't think either were ever found. I cannot recall if he took an SMG with him.Back in the 1970s, before I went Leg O, I was on a court martial panel of three Winnipeg Patricias that went AWOL from Dundurn taking a 3/4 ton truck and their sub-machine guns with them. There was a case at the RCEME school about 10 years ago where a Sgt was stealing ammunition from ranges, pocket full at a time. Other things had to of been going on to because when they went to go arrest him, he committed suicide.Decades ago when 1VP was in Calgary. A few PTE’s went on tasking to Chilcotin. With Mr Bean as his 2 i/c.I still feel that John Cleese is the brains behind this whole operation!
Is the gravel pit in Quebec City?By the CBC investigations they found the sand pit the group were LARPing. It appears the cement company is the same name as one of the fools and they were likely using the pit on days that it was not actively being worked.
Now was this pit the targeted "Territory to be seized?".
