RCN can't be trusted with airworthiness, crew safety, or any number of other issues.

If there is ever an air strike conducted at either of our two naval base my first question will be what did the Navy do to offend the RCAF ?

I've cleared my building slips of other models for now, and have been puttering away at getting my model of HMS Puncher finished up. There's honestly not a lot left to do with her - she's almost ready to launch. I did the tie-down lines this afternoon on the flight deck, and the rudder/motor mount were installed earlier in the week.

HMS Puncher has sailed - she's done her maiden voyage, and is now very close to being complete.

In terms of what's left to do, here's my list of bits/things that remain:

20mm guns paint/install
40mm guns paint/install
Barracuda decals
Barracuda wings glued on
Barracuda Clear coat seal
Hull markings (D79 + waterline mark + depth lines)
Flags? Might want to add some signal flags too

If you're visiting in Halifax, HMS Puncher is on display for the next few months at Greater Hobbies in Dartmouth.

When you're painting a model, there are very few feelings as good as that when you peel off a mask, and things are nice and crisp with practically no bleed under the tape.

The decals for the flight deck included 85 individual decals - the elevators too 8 pieces to surround in white having to align and join the decals carefully. Good fun.

Very well done. So here's the big question - do you believe in weathering? I always get a great satisfaction of adding rust and grime and chipped paint and wood rot.

I do not believe in weathering....I tried it a long time ago, and very badly overdid it.

I'm going 'pristine' ish for this model.
