What embolden these broadcasters to slant their articles to either the Left or extreme Left, for climate change and environmantalism, and animal rights is that there are no criminal laws on subversion judging my observation from history books, Canadian, American, and Middle East. Or if ever there is a hybrid it does not cover all aspects of the crime nor impose death penalties or life imprisonment. How do subversives end up in Saudi Arabia? They end up beheaded. So the Communist Party of Saudi Arabia are all in Cuba. I am not suggesting to "cut their heads off" but pass a bill that could make subversion and conspiracy to commit subversion unlawful. Lots of Chinese spies who were seduced by their Chinese girlfriends then later on handled by their Chinese mole parents are now in RCMP. (That is as far as I know of two acquaintances who debate the merits of Leftism and socialism with co-workers.), ......etc. etc. According to a famous military general, attempting to subvert a lawfully ordained democratic government is like attempting to decimate its whole army (referred to as Canadian Armed Forces.)

I would suggest you read the Constitution Act of 1982, Part 1, Section 2(b)

Specifically:

Fundamental Freedoms
Marginal note:Fundamental freedoms

2. Everyone has the following fundamental freedoms:

    (a) freedom of conscience and religion;

    (b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication;

    (c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and

    (d) freedom of association.

And there is some irony here. I'll leave it to you to figure out what it is. ::)

This report is tangentially relevant to the CBC.

I suspect that the Royal Mail and Canada Post are in the same boat: rapidly declining demand for letter delivery, intense competition for parcel delivery and profits coming only from raising service rates. IF the Brits do manage to privatize the Royal Mail then I suspect that Canada Post's days are numbered, too.

IF the Royal Mail and Canada Post can be privatized then my guess is that the Canadian government will be emboldened to look, hard, at the CBC. Even the CBC's most staunch supporters agree, generally, that it is adrift and not doing what a good public broadcaster should be doing. But the prescriptions for saving the CBC all seem to involve spending more and more government money and I doubt that any political party, even the NDP, has much appetite for that.

Perhaps the CBC will be left to starve to death and the private sector will pick over the carcass - like vultures and jackals; maybe a brave government will put the CBC out of its misery by privatizing it.

(There is no need to privatize the BBC because most of its money is raised by radio/TV licence fees, something we Canadians have not had since 1953.)

Subversion comes through many forms and faces with one common objective among those who commit them: to take over a legitimate goverment. It can come by way of a communist airing valid grievances but twisting the facts thereby misleading the public, again with one aim: to wrest political power from the legitimate government. It can also come by way of infiltrating the government, passing classified information to the enemy thereb weakening the government making it vulnerable to a 'putsch' which the communists in the government have been awaiting with wagging tongues. Anti-subversion laws can co-exist witht the right to free speech, right to free press, right to free assembly and other rights enshrined in the Charter of Rights. I suggest we pass the law before it is too late for it was Jesus Christ himself who said, "Our bitterest enemy is our communist household member"

:spam: and  :ignore:

I cannot decide if you are just a troll or if you need professional (psychiatric) help, but, in either event, I once again thank Mike Bobbitt for the "ignore" function.

ERC

I think that puts the "need(s) professional (psychiatric) help" to the forefront.

I had a debate with a high ranking member of the Communist Party of USA on the issue of immigration. He was criticizing the government of USA for "not aiding deportees, refugees and the like". I invoked the rule of law, that America is a sovereign nation who has the right and privilege to reject or accept applicants for immigration. The debate became heated until I argued that they themselves invoke rule of law when their rights are trampled. They were appeased not becausee of my arguments but because I argued that I still haven't gotten my greencard and was rejected 12 times by the American embassy in Manila and the most damnning argument of all that caused them to gloat over it: Cuban, Chinese, Russian moles or agents comprise 89% of immigration officers in the Department of Foreign Affairs. If there is such a thing as elderly or child abuse, there is such a thing as lenient-government abuse.

The Philippine government repealed its anti-subversion laws 15 years ago. This emboldened a cashiered colonel self-professed socialist who idolized Ghadaffi to stage 8 attempted coup attempts. The friction between the Communist Party of the Philippines and the government were not as serious as today. Today 4-9 AFP soldiers are waylaid in the countryside by communist terrorists almost everyday. People are massacred by these communists. And those who repealed the law still stand by their own argument, freedom!

Read Matthew 10: 16-38. "Behold I send you forth like sheep(Canadian Forces) in the midst of wolves (commies).Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves....etc.

Can someone put this twit back on his meds or something.....just "Make the voices Stop!! "  ::)

I'm glad to see you fellows trying to bring a higher standard of discussion to bear here  ;D  ... after that incoherent hemmingway fellow.  :facepalm:

It also, probably, illustrates why the BBC doesn't need privatizing but the CBC does.
