Interesting situation on the Chief Military Judge's website.

Apparently, today a court-martial has been convened for one Maj Rompré of the Régiment de Maisonneuve (see http://www.forces.gc.ca/cmj/calendarAug_e.asp and http://www.forces.gc.ca/cmj/chargesheets/rompre.pdf).

At the same time, there was a 2004 court-martial of a Maj Rompré of the Régiment de Maisonneuve (see http://www.forces.gc.ca/cmj/year2004_e.asp and http://www.forces.gc.ca/cmj/sentence/2004/2004ecm058.s.pdf)

Given the nature of the current charge ("S. 127 NDA, wilfully did an act in relation to things that may be dangerous to life which act was likely to cause bodily injury to some person or damage to property."), and that the prior court-martial was for NDs in theatre, I'd be curious to know whether the new charge is a dusting off of issues from the previous cort-martial in 2004, or an entirely new set of circumstances.

umm... without letting the cat outa the bag - the answer is NO!

This fella figured a way to do a couple of Homers (Doh!) after his return from Afghanistan

This fella is alleged to have done something after his return, is probably what you meant to say.

By the way, definition of "homer" (according to the Simpsons) is to succeed at something in spite of being inept at doing said act. ;D

Ummm... yeah.... that's it... That must be what I meant to say.

in my experience, not an overly severe sentence given the offences and the context in which they were committed.

Geo:  quit baiting us!!!

Heh!

From one puzzle palace to another....

...Is that Clayton Matchee on 16 September? I thought he was found unfit for trial.

Himself!

Yes, he was found unfit to stand trial.  That judgement gets reviewed periodically. The date on 16 September is just that.  This will continue until he dies or is found fit to stand trial, whichever comes first.
