UK uses Apache's off of ships.

My understanding is that what VAdm Topshee was thinking about is a platform that has an ice-breaking hull that can self-deploy without an accompanying ice-breaker.

Already done, and failed.

Not yet but in 5 to 6yrs, or the time it takes to construct the GLAAM, they could be around.
