I wonder if they think it is already in the bag for SK and they are hoping to catch offsetting defence contract work to placate Europe?

TKMS already has a healthy order book for their subs and as much as they want our business, likely they are wondering how they would meet everyone needs/expectations for delivery timelines.

It appears that Greece is also looking for new submarines. TKMS and Hanwha are both submitting their designs as contenders. Sweden and France are also in the running (A26 and Blacksword Barracuda respectively).

Personally I would think the KS-III and the Barracuda as being to large for the Mediterranean, but I could be wrong. On the other hand the KS-III in Greek service would probably give the Turks some sleepless nights.
